And-to-End
Monday, October 27, 2008Only one thing that I want to say…I can’t help but notice the poetry in your existence.
and
and
…and that in every word that you write, I would always wonder if you are thinking of me.
And I know it’s not right. I cannot claim someone who was never mine.
And yet wherever I turn, I would see the same fries that we shared once, or hear the same song that I asked you to sing, or the soda can that we used to soothe the burn in your hand. The hand…that I once held…
And I am dying of envy. Not that you are with someone else, but because you choose to be with everyone else, but me…And I am not man enough to accept that I cannot make you happy when it’s your happiness that I’m all for
And yet, in every drizzle that i see through the window, I stop myself from worrying if you have a jacket or umbrella with you on your way home.
And yes, by acting this way, I’m becoming more pathetic than I already am. But your happiness is more important than my pride. And so I chose to keep my distance.
And it hurts to keep myself away from your sight, or to look you in the eye as if I am not in pain, or even to resist the force that makes me want to hold the same hand in the hope, that maybe…maybe….
And tomorrow will be another ordinary day. And I will smile back when you greet me in the morning. As if none of this has happened. Though I cannot hold it long enough for you not to notice it.
And maybe, you’d remember.
And maybe, you’d forget.
